How Much Water?

On my journey of discovery I have discovered I don't drink enough! Averaging approx 3-4 glasses per day! Sometimes and I don’t even have water, but a fizzy drink, just coffee or fruit juices.

As part of my fat loss, I am trying to consume 2.5 – 3 litres per day, every day!
Our bodies are made up of approx 60% water and it’s recommended we consume at least 8 glasses of water per day.  

I am now drinking 200mls every hour. It can be difficult to consume but I count my morning coffee and my protein shakes (when with water) as one of my intakes. Use a water app, which will prompt me as well record how much you have drunk and still need to drink. Drink water reminder is my favourite.

Drinking 3 litres of water will not only boost my metabolic rate but also burn an additional 96 calories per day. Not drinking will actually add fat / bloating, as the body is storing water as it doesn’t know when it will be replenished. Drinking a glass every hour, will flush your system and move your body into a metabolic state.

One tip...drink ice cold water. It tastes better and your body will use additional energy to heat the water to body temperature.  

Other good reasons to keep hydrated?

·         Helps prevent hangovers
·         May help prevent headaches
·         It has a major effect on energy levels and brain functions
·         Maximizes physical performance

So when working out...drinks plenty!
