Top Fat Burning Foods



Everyone wants to lose the extra few lbs off there waist line for summer.
I am no exception with my aim to get my body fat percentage down to 12-15% in the next 3 months.

How?  By eating more food! But not just food, fat burning food!

Obviously if you’re looking to cut fat the only way to do so is to drop your calorie intake.  Eat smaller portions on food and divide your calories over 6 meals for the day. Having said that, the following foods will help speed up your metabolism making your body work harder to digest your meals. As your body is working to digest your food, it uses more energy, thus creating a fat burning status.



Protein shakes. Your body is mainly made up of protein and water! Lower your carbohydrates and increase your protein. As protein is harder to burn, your body will then utilise the carbohydrates for daily use and start burning your fat store as well.



Beans. Any beans apart from jelly beans! All beans are high in fibre and protein.  Fibre is great for the body, keeping your metabolism high and toilet visits regular.





Whole grain foods. Not all carbohydrates are bad. Opt for whole grain foods for a healthy alternative. Brown rice, sweet potato, whole grain pasta, whole grain breads. Their higher fibre will keep you feeling fuller for longer and because there harder in digest your body has to work harder to process them!    


Water.  Aim to drink at least 3 litres of water a day. Water flushes out the impurities, keeps you hydrated and can fill you up. Sometimes when you’re hungry, you’re in fact dehydrated! Have a pint before every meal and sip throughout the day.


Chilli’s. Adds flavour to the blandest of food with a little spice. Chilli’s increases your core body temperature and raises your heart rate, which in turn pushes your metabolism.
